Hi,

Welcome to The Spanda, a container created to share practices revolved around feminine embodiment.

I am Sandra, I am a teacher and student of yoga originally from Sweden now based in Sydney Australia. I am passionate about empowering women to feel more free and connected in their bodies and with their authentic self. I am constantly exploring the obstructions of that in myself, and in my role as a teacher I wish to empower others to do the same. On this path I discovered how my menstrual cycle was a fundamental piece in my own healing and self-growth journey. 

I have experienced severe pain with my cycle for as long as I can remember. The pain during my bleed combined with the symptoms during the two weeks leading up to it meant that I only felt like myself for about one week every month. When I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 30s, I felt guided to become more curious about my cycle. 

When I started to listen, I discovered that my cycle with all its pains and discomforts held an immense amount of teachings. When I learnt how to fuse my yoga practice with the practice of living in tune with my menstrual cycle, it changed my life in a more significant way than I could have ever imagined. 

I love how this practice of coming home to ourselves can unfold when we connect to our bodies wisdom through awareness, movement and breath. I strongly believe that we all can be our own greatest healer when we are given the right support and circumstances. I believe that movement in itself and connecting to our bodies is a great way to empower yourself with your own innate wisdom, to extend your capacity and resilience. 

Qualifications

I have been teaching yoga since 2016. I had the fortune to begin my yoga teaching journey with Tara Judelle and the school of Embodied Flow where I have completed multiple trainings, I am highly inspired by her teachings. Through the school of Yoga Medicine I have also completed training in Women’s Health, Traditional Chinese medicine, Prenatal yoga, Restorative yoga & The Nervous System. I am also certified in ZenThai Shiatsu, Reiki Level 1 and Somatic Stress Release Level 1.
